Proper acoustic design is fundamental in any space, especially in public contexts, and has to be developed in relation to the purpose of the site. A theater, an office or a restaurant will each have different problematic issues. What they have in common is the need for sound signals to reach their intended listeners with their intended meaning, clarity and definition.

For twenty years the Fantoni group has conducted research on acoustics and the development of systems that offer concrete responses to professionals who opt for responsible design. Sound absorption and reduction of reverberation are the strong points of the products of the Fantoni Acoustic Paneling division, offering a wide range of certified solutions that includes perforated and milled panels, for the wall or ceiling, slats and blocks, mixed systems and suspension systems for use when it is not possible to alter the ceiling.

The Millerighe solution, a milled sound-absorption system, is the latest entry in the 4akustik collection, combining high acoustic performance with striking good looks. Its blades and blocks in MDF, with facing, lacquer or veneer, adapt to the vertical surfaces of interiors, becoming part of the architecture.

The high performance is the result of study of the Helmholtz resonance theory, and the dispersal of sound by means of porousness. The main parameter taken into consideration is reverberation, seen as the total reflected sound that remains present in an enclosed space after the sound source ceases emission.

Millerighe can be used in acoustic interventions to guarantee sound quality, regardless of the geometric form of spaces, their materials, their positioning with respect to sound sources and the total level of background noise. In aesthetic terms, the milling almost vanishes, bringing out the material’s appearance for the creation of a homogeneous image.

Versatility of installation and uniformity of the surfaces are ensured by the dry mounting of the blades: a sequence of operations without joints, where the pieces are equally easy to remove, thanks to bolts and sliding clips. The modular systems can be mounted on the wall with a system of sections and fasteners similar to that of the blades.

Furthermore, health and safety are ensured by flame-reaction certification and low formaldehyde content. In this way, Fantoni responds to a real estate market with a growing focus on sustainability and wellness, but also and above all to the needs of designers who want to customize their solutions. The Research Center develops new construction technologies, while improving the technical performance of existing products, the eco-compatibility of materials, and diversification of the offerings, with even wider margins of personalization.
