A striking helical staircase in raw sheet metal becomes the trait-d’union of the three levels in the new space of Boffi|DePadova facing Sloane Avenue and Draycott Avenue. Conceived as a residence featuring the brand’s various collections, in line with the art direction of Piero Lissoni the creative direction of Chiara Tombari has shaped the spaces featuring a restrained elegance, leitmotif of the brand’s showrooms around the world. 900 sqm of pure poetry, in which the Boffi kitchens and systems, the upholstered furnishings and lighting design of DePadova, the partitions of ADL, the minimal lines of MA/U Studio and the new Time & Style ēdition collection are mixed in poised harmony.

“In London – says Roberto Gavazzi, CEO of Boffi|DePadova – besides the historic store on Brompton Road and the Boffi Wigmore headquarters opened in 2011, three years ago we opened a location exclusively for the DePadova collections: a space on the first floor of a building redesigned by the architect David Chipperfield, surrounded by captivating full-height windows. When the ground and second floors became available, we decided to move from the location at Brompton Road, combining our collections in a single, exclusive site in the heart of Chelsea. This approach brings out the range of our complete offerings for interiors, in a context of synergy for the company’s various brands.”

With anthracite gray walls, large windows and an industrial style that incorporates the vision of living of Boffi|DePadova, the new London location creates a particular sensation of discovery, which becomes more and more intriguing as one discovers each individual floor. “With respect to the previous facility, conceived as a loft with immediately perceptible products – Roberto Gavazzi explains – the new showroom generates a particular sense of suspense and expectation. The various levels have been organized as true apartments, where the products establish a fluid dialogue. On the ground floor we have focused on the world of the kitchen, while the first and second floors are for the various offerings of the brands, creating sophisticated habitat nuclei.”

The new attraction has already met with great success in London, in spite of its recent opening, and has presented the special collaboration with the Japanese company Time & Style. “The Time & Style ēdition capsule collection, besides offering products of the highest quality, embodies a fascinating story because it is created by craftsmen in Hokkaido, who have worked on wood, ceramics and blown glass for many generations. When we visited their workshops we were amazed by their skill, their ability to conserve the values of the past, to pass them down to the future, and to move forward with constant care and precision. A narrative capsule based on in-depth craftsmanship and painstaking attention to detail.”

The kind of attention that sets the tone of every Boffi product, and is increasingly in demand not only in the kitchen sector, but also in the overall world of interior design: “on the English market – Gavazzi explains – it is possible to realize remarkable projects. One of the main requests is for custom-made and special items, one-of-a-kind creations. A vision that has always been part of our modus operandi.”
