Versatile seating

On a chair, a stool or a comfortable sofa, different ways of sitting reflect different approaches, including smart working

Because we are always in touch with our devices, we can say that every place is suitable for working, concentrating and producing. But while the choice of a worksurface, a table or a desk is very flexible, for seating there are more aspects and needs to consider, starting with comfort and ergonomics, all the way to looks, to make spaces more attractive, as well as adapting to the habits of smart working. Throughout the working day, or just for a phone call or a meeting, the time we spend sitting down is a factor to take into account in the choice of the best seating.

EVO-C by Vitra, designed by Jasper Morrison, is a folding chair in plastic (100% recyclable polypropylene), with a support structure formed by components like hollow tubes that seamlessly flow into the flat surfaces of the seat and back. The idea is to eliminate all superfluous details, while providing stability and comfort.

With welcoming rounded lines suitable for domestic spaces, Doll by Emilio Nanni is a chair produced by Billiani, with a structure in stained or lacquered beech or in steel, also available with padded seat and back in the versions with four legs or runners.

Part of the 2021 Work from Home collection by Knoll, the icon from the past Saarinen Conference Relax, designed by Eero Saarinen in 1957, has an updated swivel base. The chair has a sculptural design, versatile to adapt to any type of space or lifestyle.

Dam by Arrmet is a collection of padded seating with an image that combines softness and technical excellence. Initially created for offices, it has been reformulated by the in-house design division of Arrmet to perfect the ergonomic approach: in the chair the stacked layers are now three in number, while the stool is enhanced by a wooden base that is warmer, and better suited to working from home.

Perfect for the home office, the Series 7™ by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen is one of the Danish brand’s most famous models. Elegant and comfortable, it comes in a wide range of finishes, colors and coverings, with or without armrests, with or without wheels, to meet the needs of all smart workers.

The Basil chair, combined with the Biblio desk by Calligaris, forms a winning duo for practical spaces. Basil, with its anatomical shaped shell, makes hours of work less tiring; thanks to its trestle structure in metal or aluminium with wheels, it offers all the comforts of office chairs.

Two in one for AARON, a stool and side table combo produced by Lapalma based on a project by Pio & Tito Toso. An elegant, functional solution that takes up less space but still provides a comfortable seat, whose metal posts extends in a stem to support a swiveling top. In different heights, also with a footrest, AARON is the ideal solution for all needs of work, socializing and relaxation.

Ideal for corporate spaces and meeting areas, but also for lobbies or at home, Alya Executive Lounge by Lievore Altherr Molina for Andreu World is characterized by its slim backrest, an ergonomic and compact design that optimizes the depth of the seat. This new lounge chair is offered in two backrest heights with the option of incorporating
a tilting system. It is available fully upholstered or with a walnut backrest.
