Lud’o Lounge, the armchair changes its dress

For Cappellini, Patricia Urquiola creates a seat that can change its dress to match the season, the style and the mood

A tribute to the centenary of Vico Magistretti (1920-2020): Lud’o Lounge is the chair designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cappellini. An ecosustainable, transformable model: the support structure in recycled plastic welcomes a soft cover that can be changed for different seasons, occasions or moods, from sporty nylon to corduroy, all the way to soft wool bouclé for a warm embrace.

“Lud’o Lounge is a conceptual and ethically responsible project, capable of leading multiple lives,” says Giulio Cappellini, talent scout and creative director of the company. “With a simple garment, it takes on different images. Not the classic upholstered furniture with a removable cover, but an object that can be dressed, featuring great comfort and representing an important chapter in the evolution of the concept of contemporary seating.”
