The measure of elegance

Furnishings by Billiani are inserted in the delicate setting of colors and lights of the Toplum restaurant, in the center of Dubai, in a tribute to simplicity with a touch of elegance and bespoke creativity

Toplum Restaurant is a new gourmet destination located inside the City Centre Mirdif shopping mall of Dubai, designed by XO Atelier as a tribute to Mediterranean atmosphere and architecture.

A very delicate, contemporary project that reverses the rules of luxury based on excess and redundancy, standing out instead for the freshness of sinuous, clean geometric lines, a refined palette of soft, relaxing colors, and the allure of metal finishes grafted into the compositional scheme and into certain details of furnishings and lights.

The formal language of Toplum, clearly inspired by the forms of classical architecture in the Mediterranean regions, is completed by means of skillful orchestration of art, crafts and design: compositions of ceramics, convex copper mirrors and custom dividers blend in harmony with the curves of the walls, in daring arched luminous installations created in collaboration with Preciosa Lighting, together with the large, symmetrical version of the suspension lamp designed by Karen Gilbert and Paul Pavlak for SkLO. XO Atelier has taken nearly all the furnishings from the Billiani catalogue, generating combinations that underscore the poetics of the project.

The authenticity of wood in thick proportions of the Nordica chairs – designed by the recent winner of the Compasso d’Oro 2020, Marco Ferreri – and the essential creativity of the Load chairs and stools by Emilio Nanni, have been combined by the designers with the flair of the Doll and Grapevine tables, personalized with a base with a brass-plated finish.
