To pay tribute to manufacturing excellence and innovation, in terms of ideas and technical prowess. Ten selected pieces of furniture – all designed by Castello Lagravinese Studio – fully reply to this task illustrating the success story of Opera Contemporary. From the brand’s launch in 2010 as an offshoot of Angelo Cappellini & C., a company with a classic, timeless style that builds on the finest cabinetmaking tradition, all the way to the metamorphosis to offer a new type of luxury Made in Italy with a sophisticated contemporary language.

For its 10th anniversary, Opera Contemporary reveals habitat scenarios full of painstaking attention to detail and sartorial workmanship, combined with efficient technological processes and machinery of the latest generation. In step with constant research on styling, materials and textiles, bringing a versatile, always varied approach to furniture design, with a range of finishes and fabrics that generates a true ‘expandable collection,’ ready to respond to the needs of premium interior decorating in public and private spaces. Wood, which is the brand’s starting point, establishes a dialogue with other fine materials, adapting to different tastes and aesthetic sensibilities.

Marble and metal cross paths in the Ludmilla series of tables, supported by a structure of two overlaid arches. The metal finish of the base of the Kathy sofa forms a contrast with its organic lines, just as the metal of the external structure embraces the seat and back of the Cosmo sofa, armchair and ottoman.

The diamond-quilted back of the Louise chair perfectly matches the structure in solid wood, completely engineered and finished by hand. The diamond workmanship repeats in the impressive headboard of the Sheila bed, an example of great sartorial skill, and in the Victor series of bar cabinets, this time in relief on the solid canaletto walnut doors, with their great visual impact.

The cylindrical metal structure of the Oscar table seems to unroll like parchment, revealing the hollow but sturdy interior that supports the marble top, a piece which together with the Pelléas tables in solid wood, with turned borders, represents the two spirits of the brand: innovation and tradition.
