“When we discovered this extraordinary Japanese company during the fair in Stockholm in 2019, we immediately understood that it could bring a marvelous new facet to the De Padova collection,” says Roberto Gavazzi, CEO of Boffi | DePadova. And so it was. And it was just a short step from this encounter to the start of a collaboration: a partnership developed on multiple fronts, from design – with the recent debut of the Time & Style ēdition collection developed in synergy between the two brands – to distribution –Boffi|DePadova has become the official distributor in the world of the Time & Style trademark, with the exception of Japan.

A shared vision of intentions, elective affinities and unified approaches that has brought these two geographically distant but philosophically coordinated dimensions together. For three decades, the Time & Style brand founded by Ryutaro Yoshida has protected and nurtured the abilities and traditions of woodworking in Japan, just as the Italian company has always safeguarded its know-how inside every single product.

Just as the vision of Maddalena De Padova led her – in the 1950s – to mix Scandinavian style with Italian design, giving rise to a Milanese concept of living in aristocratic elegance, so the concept of Time & Style ēdition reaches for a fusion of modern lifestyle with the Japanese aesthetic, in which every product can be mixed in different interior scenarios, with material warmth and discreet, incisive style.

Chairs, with or without arms, large and small tables with minimal design, and rice paper lamps reveal painstaking workmanship along with profound knowledge of crafts techniques, with roots in an ancient culture; the research on materials, especially the finest wood, reflects this innate cultural approach. The forests of Hokkaido, in northern Japan, supply the materials that form the collection.

As a vivid expression of this encounter between Japanese sophistication and Italian know-how, the Time & Style ēdition line directly enters the De Padova collection with the design of upholstered furnishings, such as the Horizontal Sofa and the Time Trip for Memories bed (produced in Italy).
