Color joins forces with material. The outcome of this union is a range of furnishings to create a variegated and welcoming setting, based on visual and tactile impressions. In the new creations of Opera Contemporary for the living and bedroom zones, the driving force is up-to-date research on hues and finishes, full of daring combinations, luminous accents and warm emotions, in tune with the coming season, during which these new developments will make their debut on the international stage.

The setting has been organized by the studio Bestetti Associati, appointed as the art directors of the company a few months ago.

Beige and red tones of the earth, greens and blues of uncontaminated nature, the orange hues of foliage in the autumn sun: an intense, saturated palette for velvets, leathers and fabrics on upholstered furnishings. But the true protagonist of this décor is wood, the noblest of materials, skillfully crafted to bring out its infinite expressive possibilities. It has been carefully combined with a selection of other materials to enhance its character and quality, starting with marble and metals, in gold or brass finishes.

The sophisticated, elegant character of Opera Contemporary is perfectly embodied in these offerings, ready to meet the needs of an international clientele that is increasingly diversified in terms of tastes and aesthetic sensibilities.

The novelty of the collection is the Alba bed, designed by the studio Castello Lagravinese: it finds an echo in the Sheila collection, updated with a double headboard, which sheds its traditional upholstery to reveal a wooden structure in a range of finishes. Cowhide cords, placed vertically, create dynamism while underlining the brand’s exceptional craftsmanship. A character that crosses different functions and styles, perfectly represented in the new entry for the living area: Taylor is the first bookcase in the Opera Contemporary collection. Designed by DL studio, this freestanding storage unit, with its vertical thrust, can also become an elegant showcase. Function and looks are perfectly combined: the metal structure supports elegant shelves in wood, marble and leather.

In this survey of the new creations for 2020, the restylings of bestsellers and icons of the brand stand out, enhanced by a fresh, even more contemporary allure. Starting with New Cosmo, in which the external structure, originally in metal, has been replaced by solid wood, featuring a border with a triangular section. Likewise, the  New Doris collection of cupboards and cabinets continues with its playful material approach, combining wood, metal and marble. Finally, New Victor amplifies its stylistic language in continuous evolution, where increasingly contemporary geometric designs converge. Its new interpretation links back to the uniform milled workmanship typical of the brand’s tradition: multidirectional grooves create optical effects with light, bringing out the noble beauty of the wood.
