“Hiding to organize” is the new imperative of Scavolini. More than a practice, more than a modus operandi of home economics. A true design philosophy that accompanies the revolutionary offerings from the company based in Pesaro, created in collaboration with the international design studio Rainlight and its creative director Yorgo Lykouria.

BoxLife is an innovative program of interior design that sets out to respond to multiple needs in a wide range of modern habitat contexts: from lofts to small studio apartments, BoxLife transforms and contains spaces and functions. To use the words of its designer, Yorgo Lykouria, “A place to cook, work, sleep, do your laundry and store your wardrobe, a haven to relax; BoxLife facilitates the harmonious coexistence of each ‘component’ with the others.”

While the key term of the concept is “versatility,” the heart of the system is the paneling, developed in linear, corner and gulf solutions. The creation of different residential zones is facilitated by the opening systems – hidden, folded, sliding or pivoting – where even the detail of the handle has a primary role in the composition, in terms of both stylistic continuity and comfort in use: the opening of the external panels is enabled by built-in handles, while the internal elements have a grip profile on the top of the doors.

A project with an eye on the world of contract furnishings, providing standardized solutions for contemporary lifestyles, while adapting and designed ‘to measure’ for today’s needs.

In the kitchen, BoxLife is organized with geometrically linear arrays of cabinets with hideaway doors (single or double), to discreetly contain the operative zones; these cabinets are able to contain up to four appliances, a supplementary sliding worktop, as well as many shelves and drawers for storage.

In total synergy with this project, the Boxi kitchen (entering in the production of Scavolini kitchen furnishings) stands out, together with its extension in the living area: with flat doors having a thickness of 22 mm and handles at an angle of 45 degrees,  Boxi perfectly interprets contemporary décor trends, sharing the intentions behind the BoxLife program.

In the living area, the sliding systems take over, creating a game of settings in continuity with the kitchen, or separated from it.

The expressive options in the bedroom zone are very more various: different bed models (double, single or bunk) and two types of openings (manual and motorized) respond to spaces of all sizes and types of usage needs, joining the wide range of cabinets made available by the program.

Another plus is represented by the lighting systems inside the cabinets, and the wardrobe accessories: getting organized has never been this simple before!

The laundry zone is perfectly inserted along the same lines, completing the BoxLife project by bringing even more rationality and ease to the organization of residential spaces, even in the most hidden zones of the home.

The innovation of the BoxLife project has brought Scavolini the coveted NYCxDESIGN Award in the “Storage” category.
