The new Minotti collection for 2020 is the result of a forceful project. It is variegated, thanks to the contributions of creative minds with different backgrounds, training and experience. It is global because it totally absorbs both indoor and outdoor settings, enhanced by a collection of materials – 2020 Textile and Leather Collection – exclusively produced by the company with the same care and know-how as a maker of editions.
An authentic synthesis of aesthetics, design and couture, coordinated by Rodolfo Dordoni with Minotti Studio, which marks a true achievement in the company’s sartorial ability, leading to increasingly sophisticated quality that makes it possible to personalize any type of space, from residential to hospitality contexts. Nendo, Marcio Kogan/studio mk27, Christophe Delcourt, GamFratesi and Dordoni join forces to grant harmonious form to a true ‘Minotti project,’ which reflects an area of contemporary modernist tastes, with geometric volumes and architectural appeal, always combined with the textures and patterns of exclusive fabrics, leathers and cowhides.
Inspired by American Mid-Century architecture, the protagonists of the Indoor Collection include the Connery system of modular seating by Rodolfo Dordoni, with its rigorous profile and extreme attention to detail: the padded base can be covered in strips of leather, finished with the same technique used to produce the most luxurious luggage. And attitude of craftsmanship that reaches its apex in the Blazer modular seating system, with a particular matelassé effect for the entire surface, and in the Mattia sofa and armchair, based on reinterpretation of a design from the 1970s found in the company’s archives. These models too have been designed by Dordoni.
The typical poetic touch of Nendo, on the other hand, can be seen in Torii, with an interesting reference to the Japanese tradition in the constructive details of the base. An ‘aerial’ system of seats for various groupings, playing with rounded edges on volumes, light thicknesses and apparently simple forms, where the sartorial touch comes from the quilting in vertical staves of the slender back, and the piping along the perimeter of the upholstery. Lou 2020 by Christophe Delcourt, the family of cabinets designed in 2017, also becomes lighter, with an updated look in terms of materials, colors and the construction of the metal legs.

There are also pieces that establish a true indoor-outdoor dialogue. Like the Fynn and Fynn Saddle-Hide chairs of different sizes, created by the duo GamFratesi in wood and cowhide, materials that are skillfully crafted to create impeccable seating with an essential structure. Or like the Daiki chairs designed by Marcio Kogan, with his typical almost obsessive focus on constructive details and the selection of the finest materials, in a minimalist style.
The entire 2020 collection, Indoor and Outdoor, created for use at all the various latitudes, is the protagonist in the showroom at the company’s HQ in Meda, and in the very new SuperSet, the teaching and training facility for the trade, and for encounters and conversations
