Bathing in the forest. In Japanese it is Shinrin-yoku, a branch of medical science based on deep, lengthy immersion in nature as an effective therapy for good health. This is the practice that has led to Yoku SH, a solution that combines a sauna, a Turkish bath and a shower in a single space, designed by Marco Williams Fagioli for EFFE by Effegibi, in which to recreate and experience the same intimate, natural sensation.
The vertical architectural parts in high-performance natural wood of the structure reinforce this impression. The rest of the effect is the result of the company’s outstanding tradition of craftsmanship, combined with the well-balanced, rigorous creative input of the designer.
The technological components – warmth, steam, digital panels and lighting system – blend harmoniously with the finishes and furnishings: the natural wooden slats of the sauna, the stoneware facings for the Turkish bath, the housing of the stove and the bookshelves in the S/SH version in natural sheet metal, acid-treated by hand, the large transparent openings in tempered smoked glass that contribute to create a sophisticated setting.
Everything is produced inside the Effe plant at Cesena, in Romagna, where the materials utilized are eco-compatible, without any plastics, and the three high-quality wood finishes – thermo-treated aspen, thermos-treated solid wood and canaletto walnut – come from sustainably managed forests.
Yoku SH, available in versions with a wooden door on the sauna side, a glass door for both sides (sauna and Turkish bath), or a glass door and a system of personalized shelving, is perfect for installation in private homes or public wellness spaces.
