Renewal for Venini: Gianluca Colonna is the new CEO

With the reorganization of the board of directors of Venini, Gianluca Colonna becomes the new CEO. Continuation of a path of growth and regeneration of the brand on the part of the Damiani family, sole owner of Venini since February

To give greater dynamism to the most authentic cases of excellence Made in Italy. This is the spirit that motivates the Damiani family, since its acquisition in 2016 of the first shares of Venini, and after having become the firm’s sole owner in February.

The reorganization of the brand’s upper echelons, announced today, is another step along the path or renewal of the historic Murano glassworks. Gianluca Colonna has been appointed as the new CEO, flanked on the board by Silvia Damiani (president) and Carlo Longagnani. The next objectives are clear: “To make the brand a worldwide protagonist,” Colonna explains. “I would like to thank the Damiani family for having given me the opportunity to guide Venini, an authentic example of Italian cultural heritage.”

An artistic tradition and a historic production site, which the Damiani family is committed to protecting, enhancing and expanding in terms of its potential, through a forceful plan of foreign growth and a series of investments – including the opening of a flagship store on Via Montenapoleone in Milan, and an increase in corporate capital of 4 million euros.

“Since childhood, my siblings and I have had the good fortune to learn to recognize the value of Italian quality craftsmanship and the meaning of a typically Italian family effort to protect, guide and update the corporate culture through ethical long-term business choices,” Silvia Damiani, vice-president of Gruppo Damiani and president of the board of directors emphasizes. “These are the concepts behind our investments in Venini, a company whose products were admired and collected by our father, Damiano Grassi Damiani. In 2021 VENINI will celebrate its 100th anniversary: this milestone, and the growth of the brand in the world, make us very proud.”
