Apartment 7 is an ideal structure for those in search of freedom, but also the comforts of a five-star hotel, with a spa and a panoramic rooftop pool. The boutique apartment house owned by the Mair family has been designed with a strong focus on outdoor spaces, offering each of the five apartments large balconies and terraces with glass parapets providing a view of the natural setting of Merano, all the way to the roof where the infinity pool is set aside for guests only. The idea of the architects has been to create extensive indoor-outdoor permeability, thanks to the design of the apartments and the choice of materials.
The glass surfaces alternate with slabs of natural stone used as cladding, for an image that is both elegant and rugged. The five apartments offer different sizes and layouts (from 105 m2 for the Palm Garden and Balcony to 120 m2 for the Penthouse). Each apartment, designed for couples, groups of friends or families, is organized around a large central living area with two bedrooms and separate bathrooms, and terraces featuring private whirlpool tubs from which to admire the view. The interior design by Marx Ladurner Architects & Nadine Bauer provides open, luminous spaces where fine materials are combined with carefully selected furnishings. Some of the partitions are in glass, and the casements of the windows have been designed to achieve the effect of a framed panoramic photo.
The bathrooms stand out for their essential geometric language, with matte black finishes that go perfectly with the Tara faucets by Dornbracht. In the kitchen the choice has also gone to faucets from the same line, but with a more classic chrome finish. In the living areas the lighting makes use of the light volumes of the Spokes suspension lamps by Foscarini designed by Vicente Garcia Jimenez and Cinzia Cumini, made with bent metal rod to give form to the structure, concealing an LED light source inside.
The rest of the lighting comes from the Fork floor and suspension lamps by Diesel Living – the home collection of the fashion brand. Guests have absolute freedom, but also the services of a five-star facility, like the rooftop pool, a spa with classic Finnish sauna, a bio-sauna and a Turkish bath, relaxation areas, a fitness room and a separate fireplace zone, with vitamin bar and infrared cots.
