The tribes of EquipHotel

The B2B fair on hotels and restaurants launches a new visual identity and defines five tribes as the leading topics of daily programming

From 15 to 19 November, EquipHotel is the French B2B fair for the sector of hotels and restaurants. The 2020 edition calls for various new developments, and will be directed by Béatrice Gravier, who describes the event as follows: “It will be a source of concrete inspiration for professionals. EquipHotel has to become an indispensable place in which to discover what is happening in the hotel and restaurant sector: two universes that are changing, right now, before our eyes.”

The fair has about 1600 exhibitors, of which 40% from abroad, covering five large spaces on the themes of food and drink, design, wellness, technology and service. The organizers have developed a new visual identity: “We had the aim of aligning the image of the fair with the contemporary imagination surrounding hotels and restaurants – says creative director Cédric Martineaud. – The idea is to take EquipHotel towards total autonomy. This is why the fair needs to express itself, narrating choices and orientations in the various pavilions of Porte de Versailles.”

The key word this year is tribe. Five have been identified (committed, gatherers, globetrotters, family spirit and local color), each as the protagonist of an entire day, each with a specific imaginary of reference, its own modes of operation, ideas and priorities.
“This concept corresponds to my way of seeing the hotel and restaurant sector – says Béatrice Gravier. – It makes me think about new styles of consumption, how people live and relax in a hotel or a restaurant. It is also a way to shed light on entrepreneurs who have dared to propose innovative approaches.”

Italy will play a leading role in EquipHotel, not only as one of the countries with the largest number of exhibitors and visitors, but also because tourism represents 13.2% of GDP, for an economic value of 232.2 billion euros. The Italian programming translates into multiple opportunities for interaction, including a pavilion entirely devoted to design and cycles of talks in partnership with ITA (the national agency for promotion of Italian companies abroad), a dedicated visit itinerary, a “Milanese” tribe and other initiatives that will soon be announced.

Another feature is the sixth edition of Transgourmet. In a space of 5800 square meters, at pavilion 7.2, 80 exhibitors and 250 brands gather to share the best developments in gastronomy.

Companies taking part in EquipHotel include Dedar, Kettal, Missoni Home, Caesar Ceramiche, Atlas, Ceramiche Refin, Florim, Laminam, Marazzi, EMU, Nardi and Talenti.
