The year 2020 is getting off to a flying start for Moooi. The lighting and interior design firm took part in Stockholm Design Week, presenting six new products during the course of a Monster Party organized for the occasion. The Monster Table by Marcel Wanders, Monster Carpet by Moooi Carpets, NR2 floor lamp by Bertjan Pot and new denim fabrics were the protagonists of the evening.
Ten years ago Marcel Wanders designed his first Monster Chairs, and now the collection has been expanded with a table and a carpet, also by the founder of the brand. An approach to design that gets noticed, thanks to a vivid identity and a modern, contemporary style. The table has sinuous lines that pay homage to the first chairs, and is available in six finishes. The carpet is a true explosion of colors, offered in three different sizes.
The NR2 floor lamp is a creation of Bertjan Pot and produces a diffused glow thanks to built-in LEDs. The designer considers this version an ‘extension’ of the first NR2, one of Moooi’s bestsellers. The lamp stands out for its button, the digital guardian of product authenticity: the NFC technology makes counterfeiting impossible.
The new denim fabrics (Indigo, Light-Wash, Midnight) take their cue from Indigo Macaque, the latest item in the Extinct Animals family, presented for the first time during the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2019. The Indigo Macaque has also prompted Moooi to launch, as an exclusive, the Something Like This Sofa by Maarten Baas in a denim edition.
