A new chapter in the partnership between Venini and Peter Marino. After the elegant Black Belt lamp, the designer has created new sculptural lamps in Murano glass: Rotondo, Cilindro and Parallelo.
“It’s a great pleasure to renew our collaboration with the architect Peter Marino, and to continue with him along the path of experimentation with glass that began in 2017. The Venini glassworks has always been a hotbed of creativity and craftsmanship, contemporary style and tradition, mixing to give rise to works that make a true contribution the extraordinary culture of Made in Murano,” says Silvia Damiani, Vice-President of Gruppo Damiani, which in 2016 acquired Venini. The presentation of the new lamps took place in coordination with Maison&Objet, on Sunday 19 January, in the prestigious Damiani boutique on Place Vendôme.
Venini’s techniques of workmanship are fascinating, highlighting the skills of the brand that make it unique. As for Black Belt, here the designer has used the Sommerso technique, involving multiple transparent layers that contain bands in the colors Black or Tea.
Rotondo, Cilindro and Parallelo stand out for their game of contrast between transparency and sculptural volumes. The forms of the new lamps, expanding on the concept presented in Milan during Euroluce 2019, are indicated by the names of the models in the collection.
Peter Marino comments on this new step of collaboration: “Venini, for architects, is the most important artistic glassworks. The quality of its creations is exceptional, and I am enthusiastic about working with them on this new collection.” The new developments don’t stop here. Venini has recently updated its website, in terms of graphic design and content. It now features a new e-commerce section.
