Kartell certainly gets noticed at Maison&Objet. The design brand presents its first chair created by artificial intelligence, in response to input formulated by the designer Philippe Starck. Keeping faith with its industrial manifesto Kartell loves the planet, the material used for the chair is 100% recycled, pure and uncontaminated.
President Claudio Luti remarks on the new entry resulting from collaboration between Kartell, Philippe Starck and Autodesk, the American company that is a leader in the production of 3D software for engineering and entertainment: “We wanted to be the first to use this new technology in the furniture sector. It allows us to combine generativedesign, industrial technology and respect for the environment, to create eco-friendly products of the new generation without sacrificing aesthetic quality and high performance, while reaching the market with considerable savings in terms of time.”
The algorithm behind A.I. accurately complies with the original requirements of the designer and the company, namely to make a comfortable chair with great resistance and solidity, conserving one of the principal values of Kartell: the creation of industrial injection-molded products of outstanding aesthetic quality.
