In Paris, during the design week held from the 17th to 21st of January, Cappellini narrates its visionary and eclectic dwelling. It does so with two original exhibition projects displayed at the Cappellini showroom in Boulevard Saint Germain and at Le Bon Marché.
In Boulevard Saint Germain, Cappellini Maison recreates the charming mood of an intimate home of the 7th District thanks to the stage curated by Valentina Folli. Classic and contemporary, traditional and avant-garde meet in this concept-apartment designed for a young, dynamic and cosmopolitan couple. Iconic Cappellini pieces have been carefully placed to emphasise the brand’s ability to create collections whose charm does not end in trend seasonality. Each project has its own strong identity and expresses the creativity of the designer, but, at the same time, it reveals an obvious consistency with Cappellini’s stylistic language.
Dining and living, relaxation and sleeping areas come alive within the spaces of Maison Cappellini through some of the company’s most iconic pieces. These include the Orla sofa and Superoblong bed by Jasper Morrison, the sculptural S-Chair by Tom Dixon, Bookshelf by Shiro Kuramata and the architectural desk Radical Fake by Patricia Urquiola. Alongside these great classics, the company displays the ‘Dolmen’ marble table and the El Paso cabinet, both designed by Giulio Cappellini. Also featuring, a preview of Carlo Colombo‘s Roquebrune sofa.
The simple, elegant and welcoming atmosphere reinterprets the style of typical Parisian mansions in which the muted and refined colours alternate with more vivid shades as in a work of art. Wainscoting, curtains, carpets and frames recall the charm of Haussmann architecture, and are the backdrop to the modern rigour of Cappellini’s furnishing elements.
A short walk from Boulevard Saint Germain, the renowned and exclusive department store Le Bon Marché hosts the second installation signed by the company: Nendo pour Capellini traces Oki Sato’s successful and prolific collaboration with the design brand. On display, the most significant projects designed by the Japanese creative talent who brought the ‘lightness’ theme to contemporary interior design.To emphasise his ephemeral, essential and poetic signature, the products are all presented in white.
