The indoor-outdoor borderline gets blurry, in a situation of reciprocal influences. This can be seen above all in Das Haus, the installation by the Spanish studio Mut Design inside the Koelnmesse fair facility, during imm cologne. The home designed by Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón, renamed “A la Fresca”, is an example of abstract architecture, conceived for a home in the heart of Albufera, in which there is no separation between inside and outside. It is composed of a combination of circles and squares, minimally decorated, and open on all sides. The intimate central area, the “Refugium”, is surrounded by four veranda-like environments: an area to relax and dress, an area dedicated to activities, a kitchen, and a space for body-care. Every year the number of companies wagering on outdoor furnishings increases, while they continue to cling to their own identities and philosophies. For example? This year Cologne hosts the debut of Cassina, with its first outdoor furnishings line: The Cassina Perspective Goes Outdoor.

After the success of the series of separés created by ps+a Palomba Serafini Associati, the Scacco collection is enhanced by a refined, sophisticated sofa that brings elegance to any space. The Orizon collection includes dining tables, small tables, benches, sofas and chaises longues, designed for coordination. The design studio Lievore Altherr has created a structure in die-cast aluminium, with removable cushions that are also available in a waterproof version.

LAPALMA

Hall 11.2 | Stand K002

The booth invites visitors to discover some of the design worlds explored by the company in recent years, interpreted in an always elegant and even more eclectic version for outdoor use. CASSINA

Hall 11.2 | Stand H010 J011

The brand has chosen the showcase of imm cologne to make its outdoor debut. The Cassina Perspective Goes Outdoor is a series that combines the icons of Collezione LC and the elegant style of Charlotte Perriand with three internationally acclaimed contemporary designers: Rodolfo Dordoni, Philippe Starck and Patricia Urquiola.

EMU

Hall 3.2 | Stand D031 D039

Anton Cristell and Emanuel Gargano have been invited to design the reissue of the historic Rio chair, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The name? RioR50: the letter R comes from the original name, and reflects the form of the structural tubing. The added number 50 indicates half a century of success.
