28 May 2020, Spazio Megawatt Court, Milan: these are the essential parameters of All Around Work, the new happening organized by Events Factory, a branch of Gruppo BolognaFiere. A biennial three-day gathering – from 28 to 30 May – surprisingly located in the center of the city, at the innovative Megawatt Court space of the Around Richard district that in the vicinity of the former Richard Ginori factory on the Naviglio Grande.
The name of the event tells its general story – a focus on the workplace and everything that happens in and around it, including chains of production and the roles of professionals contributing to its evolution – while the particulars are yet to be revealed.
Some previews come directly from the creators of All Around Work, the architects Alfonso Femia and Marco Predari: “The present scenario of trade fairs was lacking in an event that would bring together all the players of a process that concentrates on the transformation of the urban setting while reinterpreting the claims and needs of workers in the widest range of professional contexts. All Around Work attempts to fill this gap.”
Inside the space of 3000 m2 the participants include studios of architecture and engineering, general contractors, manufacturers of office furniture and high-tech companies, revealing to visitors the background of a market in constant transformation.
The objective of creating business opportunities and personal contacts will be pursued by means of a variegated program of encounters, panel discussions and workshops.
To interpret the needs of the world of work, the installation Inclusive Works @Work has been made by the Milanese architecture firm Principioattivo Architecture Group: exactly like today’s offices, it will be an indefinite, osmotic experience in terms of boundaries and solutions.
All Around Work is supported by ADI–Associazione per il Design Industriale, IACC–Italian American Chamber of Commerce Chicago Midwest, and Associazione Around Richard. ADI will also coordinate the first edition of the Industrial Design competition for young talents under 35, to discover new solutions that improve quality of life in offices, coworking facilities, shopping centers, public spaces and hotels.
