Iosa Ghini Associati updates FAB

The restyling of FAB Fiandre Architectural Bureau has been assigned to the Bologna-based studio, changing the image both inside and outside

“Five years after the opening of FAB we felt the need to update the space with a project that would shed light on the evolution of the brand and its products.” This is how Federica Minozzi, CEO of the Iris Ceramica Group of which Fiandre is a part, announces the completion of the restyling of Fiandre Architectural Bureau, the showroom space at Castellarano, Reggio Emilia.

Fiandre has assigned the task to Iosa Ghini Associati, which has used Fiandre products for the surfaces of the entire space: “The Bologna-based studio has developed an interesting design interpretation, original and extremely versatile, that restores a strong identity to Fiandre and its public space for the display of production in all its forms, with a focus on applications and entertainment,” Federica Minozzi continues.

Iosa Ghini Associati has focused on the external part of the showroom (5200 m2) and the interior (1500 m2). “Our idea is to demonstrate, in these two settings, the extraordinary application versatility of the new, sustainable and appealing ceramic products.” The interior has been subdivided into two large areas differentiated in terms of the two core products of the brand: large slabs and the traditional tile format.

The first area includes the reception hall and a bar-kitchen zone with an island entirely clad in SapienStone 12 mm and Maximum 6 mm slabs. This space features the entire Maximum range, with large-format slabs displayed on the walls or incorporated in various furnishings. The voyage through the products in traditional format suggests the spaces of a boutique hotel and extends from the hall to the reception desk, the wellness area to the spa, with areas of connection like the corridor leading to the rooms, the elevator and the staircase, all the way to the suite, the studio, the lobby and the bathroom.

For the outdoor zone, Fiandre and the Bologna-based studio have opted to use the Granitech outdoor technical solutions, with Fiandre Architectural Surfaces and Porcelaingres. What was previously the parking area has become a pedestrian zone enhanced with urban furnishings. At the center, a round island is paved with the Granitech system.
