In the heart of the international design capital, just a few steps away from the Duomo, there is a new “design & entertainment destination”: Speronari Suites.
Not only a place to stay when in Milan, but also a venue in which to enjoy the renowned Milanese aperitif, or to savour the excellent Argentine cuisine which has determined the success of El Porteño Gourmet.

Speronari Suites is fruit of a liaison between HotelSolutions, represented by businessmen Paolo Catoni and Martino Corti (with an experience spanning more than ten years in the provision of start-up consultancy to hospitality establishments and strategic advice for the optimization of their promotional and marketing activities, along with the management of the Brera Apartments brand, a network consisting of over 40 residential apartments and suites in the world’s most famous design district), and Dorrego Company represented by Fabio Acampora and brothers Sebastian and Alejandro Bernardez (a company which, ever since 1995, has been engaged in the conceptualization, design, set-up and management of innovative and stand-out lounge bars and restaurants).

Paolo Catoni, CEO of HotelSolutions, states: “What Milan needs is a young and glamorous venue targeting an international clientele but, at the same time, always open for the Milanese themselves, also in the evenings and at weekends. Conceived in such a way as to attract Milanese clients and “tourists” from all over the world, whether on business or travelling for pleasure. So, I thought that a partnership with Dorrego could be both strategic and differentiating, precisely because El Porteño Gourmet will certainly be the bistro of Speronari Suites, but it will also be a pole of attraction for the city of Milan. A meeting place between Milan and the rest of the world”.

Fabio Acampora of Dorrego Company , adds: “Our foray into the world of “welcome” has been a new experience for us, one that has inspired us to create another format for Milan. Following the Classico Porteño, we went on to open the Porteño Prohibido, which combines the Argentine fine dining tradition with the sensuality of the tango, which brings us to today’s Gourmet Solution, a more informal experience also open at lunchtime.”

With regard to the interior finishes, wide plank wood flooring has been chosen for all of the rooms to recall the tradition of Milanese floors and to increase the percentage of hard surfaces; this extensive solution has enabled a reduction of indoor pollution and the use of local resources; these have also been combined with tatami mat-effect textile flooring solutions in the corridors where the (Kreon) lighting is very warm to enhance the warm colour palette and shades of the transit areas. Wood has also been used in the bathrooms in the interests of compositional continuity, which are fitted with Ceramica Globo and Catalano sanitary fixtures in soft shades, Fantini accessories and Tubes radiators.
Francesca Attolini has also personally designed some of the furnishings used in the suites: the metal and wood structures, the desks, consoles, sofas, armchairs and even the handy hooks recalling the back-to-front N of the Speronari Suites logo.

Tom Dixon also put his name to many of the decorative items and furnishing accessories such as side tables, tables and lamps.
For textiles, Dedar was chosen to supply the fabrics used to upholster the headboards of the beds and some of the seating, while the curtains and certain upholstery fabrics were designed specifically for this project by interior designer Francesca Attolini herself.
Speronari Suites also has a Spa & Gym on its basement floor, fitted out by Starpool and complete with avant-garde equipment by Tecnogym for everyday fitness and training, as well as the latest model of Finnish sauna branded Starpool “SoulSauna”.
