Fabbrica 4.0 by Jannelli&Volpi

The company specialized in the production of wallcoverings and wallpapers opens the doors of its factory in Tribiano to tell its story

Jannelli&Volpi has decided to open the doors of its production plant in Tribiano, in the heart of the Parco Agricolo Sud, to about 300 visitors during a span of four days set aside for clients, stores, dealers, architects, media professionals and opinion leaders.

The event, Fabbrica 4.0, made it possible to narrate the history of the company founded in 1961 by Oreste Jannelli and specialized in wallcoverings and wallpapers. Today, the firm is run by the founder’s children: Mauro (president), Lidia (financial director), and Paola (communication and CreativeLab).

The plant has an area of 23,000 m2 for 148 employees, 9 of which are part of the ‘CreativeLab,’ the in-house creative division that creates the firm’s collections as well as licensing and producing for other brands: Jannelli&Volpi, JV Italian Design, Sirpi, JWall, CO.DE Contemporary Design by Jannelli, Armani/Casa Exclusive Wallcoverings Collection, MissoniHome Wallcoverings, Marimekko and JV Licence Design.
The company also collaborates with highly acclaimed designers. Since the 2000s, over 30 talents have worked with the firm, including Markus Benesch, Diego Grandi, Giulio Iacchetti, Italo Lupi, Nisi Magnoni, Paola Navone, Lorenzo Palmeri, Matteo Ragni.

The production numbers are also impressive. Every day Jannelli&Volpi consumes 2943 kg of water-base ink for printing processes, using 150,000 meters of spools of ‘green’ paper to produce 16,000 kg of wallpaper rolls.
The printing process involves several fundamental passages, like the choice of colors, rotary printing on vinyl and dyeing.
In 2018 sales rose to 32 million euros, of which 90% on foreign markets.

Special care goes into implementation of production technologies, thanks to a corporate strategy whose guidelines are creativity, style and innovation, without overlooking environmental protection. All this translates into the use of water-base inks, with a continuous closed-circuit water system and recovery of produced energy, including thermal. The raw materials are sourced from certified sustainable suppliers, and working conditions in the plant are kept at optimal levels. In this perspective, Greenwall is a material obtained from scrap from vinyl wallcoverings, thanks to the addition of particles of botanical origin; the material can be used to create synthetic grass surfaces, mostly for the world of sports.
