Venini: presentation of the Tonino Lamborghini collection

The collaboration has produced a collection composed of vases, chandeliers and lamps that combine the spirits of the two brands

“Our objective is to create a total luxury living concept based on Italian style and our family heritage.” Ferruccio Lamborghini, vice-president and CEO of Tonino Lamborghini Spa, announces the new co-branding collection with Venini, the historic glassworks that recently opened a showroom in Santo Domingo.

“When in 2016, with the Damiani group, we acquired the Venini glassworks, we had the clear aim of bringing it back to its former glory, investing in the brand’s identity, which has always been based on creative experimentation and contaminations with different worlds, not just the traditional crafting of glass. In this perspective, we have encouraged the co-branding project with Tonino Lamborghini: it is perfectly in tune with this vision and allows both brands to grow through the sharing of know-how,” says Silvia Damiani, vice-president of the Damiani group.

The new series includes vases, chandeliers and lamps with precise aerodynamic lines, metal details and typical mechanical features of the world of Tonino Lamborghini, combined with the skills of the craftsmen of the glassworks in Murano, embodying the philosophy of Venini.

The furnishings take their cue from the mechanical engineering of the Bologna-based brand’s heritage, to bring elegance and refinement to any space.
The Pistone vases have a cylindrical base and are available in warm transparent tones of red combined with taupe. The collection includes Octagono, with decoration in blue or green, and Pentagono, the faceted model that reflects color in fascinating bursts of light. The Faro vases in blown glass with spot patterns have spherical forms.

Fine craftsmanship and technological research are the strong points of Venini, made available to Tonino Lamborghini to create chandeliers in delicate pastel tones or metallic colors, to assemble in thrilling compositions.

The collection of ceiling, floor and table lamps springs from the tradition of the balotton, the technique that gives glass an effect of crossed relief. The sphere is blown inside a screened metal mold that leaves an imprint on the material when it hardens. The refined pattern of the body forms a contrast with the perfect roundness and glow of the semi-spherical part in metal that surrounds the lamp, like the headlights of vintage automobiles.
