The public platform CPH-Ø1 (designed by Marchall Blecher and Magnus Maarbjerg of the firm FOKSTROT) is the first prototype for the Copenhagen Islands project, an archipelago of wooden floating islands gathered in the larger parts of the port, but easy to move in order to trigger activities in recently developed or underutilized areas. Now used as a stopping point for canoers, swimmers and local fishermen, the artificial island can be freely interpreted by a heterogeneous audience.
The structure of 25 square meters has been built in a local shipyard using wood of sustainable origin, and it has a linden tree at its center. It floats thanks to an ingenious device entirely made from recycled plastic bottles.
