Cersaie changes its look

The fair in Bologna becomes Open Cersaie: from a place of ‘exhibition’ it is transformed into one of ‘relation’ through initiatives, updated communications and a new logo

Cersaie is inspired by Bologna. The fair of ceramics, surfaces and bath furnishings takes its cue from the host city and becomes more informal, friendly, inclusive and open. Various changes in the organization and communication are making it evolve from a place of ‘exhibition’ to a place of ‘relation.’ The 37th Cersaie is scheduled for 23-27 September.

These changes come in tune with those in the world of design, attributing greater importance to online activities, updating the site and the logo, and expanding the use of social networks. The goal is to connect architects, designers, contractors, dealers, private clients, Italian and international exhibitors in a simple, very direct way.

The 2019 edition focuses on one of the most versatile and refined materials: ceramics. These products, combined with the growing importance of non-residential construction, have prompted the organizers to create a new theme area: Archincont(r)act. The zone is in Pavilion 29, with floorspace of 700 m2.

Not to be missed: Famous Bathrooms, the theme exhibition inside Pavilion 30 curated by Angelo Dall’Aglio and Davide Vercelli. The idea, in this case, is to make a free interpretation of bath spaces inspired by personalities who have made history: from the Beatles to Sigmund Freud, Coco Chanel to Piet Mondrian, Le Corbusier to Maria Callas.

Visitors can also see the 8th iteration of Città della Posa, at Pavilion 31a, where master tile installers offer demonstrations on the use of large slabs.
Other appointments include the 6th edition of the ADI Ceramics & Bathroom Design Award, created to promote the most innovative Italian products in the ceramic tile and bath furnishings sectors, in collaboration with ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale.
