25 years with 100% Design

Inserted among the Design Destinations of LDF, from 18 to 21 September, the event celebrates a quarter century of life. With 400 exhibitors of furnishings, lighting, textiles, claddings and accessories for the home

In a few days worldwide design spotlights will be focused on London. London design week is full of events and initiatives, one of which is 100% Design. The 2019 edition promises to be particularly interesting. The event created in 1994 and on view from 18 to 21 September at Olympia London is now celebrating its first 25 years of existence. Over 400 exhibitors take part, showing furniture, lighting, textiles, coverings and accessories for the home.

100% Design will look to the past with a focus on the present, regarding timely themes like climate change and Instagram, and on the future, hosting young creative talents on the rise in this sector. For the second consecutive year, Design Fresh presents precisely these emerging talents.

width=The protagonist is Finland, confirming its place as the ‘world’s happiest country’ and always engaged with themes and policies for the protection of nature through sustainability and healthy lifestyles. Inside the exhibition A Sense of Finland ecological logs, sounds and smells will transport visitors into an Eco House in the forests of Finland.
Lots of room has been set aside for Instagram, the social network capable of influencing architects and interior decorators more and more: seven inspiration kiosks by seven creative talents allow them to share their personal visual collections.

There will also be about 50 talks on the circular economy, color and wellness, conducted by exceptional speakers like the designers Marcel Wanders and David Rockwell. And we should not overlook the area on materials, where 22 innovative projects oriented towards energy efficiency, wellness and sustainability will be gathered inside the Material Studio.

Finally, the section known as Detail London flanks the vast offerings of Design London, for this year hosting Glamora, Arper, Antonio Lupi, Elite Stone, as well as other Italian and international brands.
