The second edition of the Beijing design fair takes place from 12 to 16 September. With twice as many exhibitors as last year

“We are proud to be back in Beijing this year with a larger selection of greater impact, to promote Chinese and international design.”

The number of exhibitors has doubled with respect to last year, when about 100 brands took part. The goal is to boost the number of visitors, after the 19,000 entries last year. The organizers have decided to focus on two main themes: sustainability and crafts. “For 2019 the spotlight is on sustainability, because of its strong influence on contemporary design processes in China. Furthermore, I want to pay homage to our community’s commitment in this area,” Zhuo Tan says.

One of the many new developments for 2019 is the Green Room of 4000 m2, a lush and ecological gathering place for visitors, in which to relax and recharge during the fair. The talks are also of particular interest, with exceptional speakers such as the designers Fabio Novembre and Sebastian Herkner. There are also many satellite events and initiatives in the center of Beijing.
