Essential style and shades of gray are the two key factors in the residential project created by Timeroots Design in Taiwan, in the district of Xitun at Taichung. The interior design features two special indoor finishes produced by Novacolor, the Italian company that is a leader in the sector, working in collaboration with Professional Choice Int’l Taiwan Ltd and LHS-Lift house Taipei, partners of the company in Taiwan.
The person behind the design of the comfortable residence is the young Taiwan-based designer Lee Ming-Kang, who has focused on an idea of space as emptiness enlivened by just a few equally minimal furnishings. These features are enhanced by the quality and tones of the special Novacolor finishes ARCHI+ CONCRETE and WALL2FLOOR, two of the company’s most successful products, used for both vertical surfaces and floors.
Starting with the aesthetic requirements of the client connected to a taste for purism, Lee Ming-Kang has filled the house with the personality and temperament of its inhabitants. Pure white ceilings, floors and walls selected in various shades of gray, reflect natural light, expanding the sense of space and creating visual continuity. Observing the images, the living area displays an almost graphic decor, with the minimal presence of a table, lights and seating that reduce functions to their pure essence. Thanks to the choice of materials and the use of a continuous, seamless finish like Wall2Floor, the furnishings stand out and the atmosphere of the living area conveys a forceful impression of elegance and calm.
The two Novacolor finishes are rich in minerals and pigments that generate luminosity and a compact image. Specifically, the continuous multilayer mineral system of WALL2FLOOR is ideal for this project, precisely due to its ability to create a continuous, seamless surface. Created for indoor and outdoor, horizontal and vertical use, WALL2FLOOR comes in multiple versions: Wall2Floor Urban, for apartments and stores; Wall2Floor Commercial, for commercial applications; Wall2Floor Office, for offices; Wall2Floor Outdoor, for terraces and open-air zones; Wall2Floor Wellness, for spas and fitness facilities.
ARCHI+ CONCRETE, also used in the interiors designed by Lee Ming-Kang, is a powdered plaster for interiors made with hydrated lime, white cement and carefully selected aggregate. The particular characteristics of the Antiche Patine version offer effects similar to concrete, excellent for today’s approaches to interior design.
