From Spain to international markets. Expormim, the company founded in 1960 and now at its third generation as a family business, responds to the needs of clients with a vast range of offerings, including indoor and outdoor furnishings, for contract projects or the home. The firm’s versatility is also evident in the new collections, such as Liz, an outdoor series created by the studio Ludovica + Roberto Palomba as a tribute to Liz Taylor, an icon of 1950s cinema.
The collection is composed of an armchair and two sofas, one of which is XL. The designers themselves describe the details: “Liz is a project based on the charm of the Fifties. The elastic fabric that extends along the whole tubular metal structure marks lines and transparencies, giving rise to a graphic effect of lightness that makes you feel the soft embrace of Liz.”
The new trend in outdoor products is to make fabrics the leading players: a true concentrate of function and looks. In particular, in Liz the elastic stretch fabric sheaths the tubular metal structure, underscoring curves and transparencies.
The new products also include Atrivm, a table created by Manel Molina inspired by the architecture of the Roman era. Available in different forms and sizes, to adapt to any space: “Atrivm is the meeting place where life unfolds, around which the structure of the Roman house was defined – says Molina. – The tables made with extruded aluminium tubing are able to combine lightness and strength, and offer a wide range of sizes and finishes to adapt to even the most demanding indoor and outdoor situations.”
The craftsmanship of Expormim is often enhanced by rattan, a key feature of various creations, including the Frames collection designed by Jaime Hayon. The chair and table have been used to furnish Intempo Sky Resort (designed by the architect Rafael Robledo and developed by UNIQ Residential), the impressive recent project for 269 luxury homes at Benidorm, Alicante. Frames also includes a low chair and a divider.
