HD Expo wagers on wellness and sustainability

In the wake of the 2019 edition of the fair in Las Vegas on the Contract and Hospitality sectors, the organizers are already working on 2020: 80% of the exhibit space has already been assigned

HD Expo lived up to its reputation. Over 800 international exhibitors specialized in interior design, furnishings, lighting, finishes, bath furnishings and accessories put the accent on this year’s themes: wellness and sustainability.
“The wellness sector is one of those in rapid growth, covering all design aspects: hospitality, workspaces, residences, retail,” says Stacy Shoemaker Rauen, vice-president of Hospitality Design Group.

Las Vegas and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, from 15 to 17 May, became the world capital of the Contract and Hospitality sector, a market accounting for 4.2 billion dollars of activity.
New trends, innovative and sustainable materials that respond to the needs of clients: these are the ingredients of the formula that produced talks, events and initiatives involving companies, professionals and design lovers.Over 100 speakers took turns in front of a very large audience, starting with the opening address provided by Andrew Zobler, founder and CEO of Sydell Group.

“The energy of HD Expo was stimulating and extremely positive. The exhibitors displayed exceptional new products, and the participants truly appreciated the wide range and innovative spirit of the event. We have been able to create an experience specifically geared for professional objectives,” says Kevin Gaffney, Group Show Director of HD Expo.

The Box Design Challenge and the Booth Awards were two initiatives of particular interest. The first was a competition between brands to design and create rooms with of vivid lifestyle impact. The 24-hour challenge was won by Urban Robot. The Booth Awards of HD Expo covered multiple categories, including Best Insta Moment, Most Creative Use of Product in a Booth, and Best of Show.

The fair also put studios, designers and architects face to face with leading brands in the sector, during 30-minute encounters held inside the Social Hub, a space designed by Rottet Studio.
The next edition of HD Expo also promises to be a success: over 80% of the exhibit area has already been assigned.
