Naples is ready to welcome the first edition of Edit Napoli. The fair organized from 6 to 9 June takes place in the historic complex of San Domenico Maggiore and puts the spotlight on design editions (or authorial design), i.e. a specific category of production in which designers, companies and artisans join forces in sophisticated research and high-quality production.
Edit Napoli, organized with the collaboration of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Naples, hovers between the history of know-how and contemporary methods of production. The goal of the initiative is to become the connecting link between designers and manufacturers. The inventors of the project, Domitilla Dardi and Emilia Petruccelli, have selected 50 exhibitors: an overview of the sector, including Italian and international names, emerging and established talents.
Brands include De Castelli, JCP Universe, Bitossi Ceramiche and Ghidini 1961. The collaborations between designers and companies are particularly interesting, such as Elisa Ossino with Nesite, while the international contingent features the French interior designer Constance Guisset and Nika Zupanc.
Collections created by Khaled El Mays, Reinaldo Sanguino and Faberhama together with local craftsmen will be presented and marketed on an international level under the label Made in EDIT.
There are also prizes, including one for the best new creation, selected by a jury composed of Giulio Cappellini, art director of Cappellini; David Alhadeff, founder of the Future Perfect; Esra Lemmens of Esra Lemmens Agency; Alessandro Valenti of ELLE Decor Italia; and Francesco Tuccillo, a local entrepreneur.
The program, starting on 6 June with a press preview, also presents Edit Talks curated by the critic Marco Petroni, Edit Table by Food Confidential, a platform to bring masters of taste together with those of design, and visits to remarkable residences.
