Minotti’s Style Embraces Fluid Architecture

Geometric shapes and sinuous and organic forms characterise Minotti’s display at the Salone del Mobile, in synergistic dialogue with the products of the 2019 collection

Minotti’s new stylistic language, which emerges in the 2019 collection, finds a perfect application in architectural design at the Salone del Mobile.Milano. An exhibitive concept made up of fluid and organic forms that are in synergistic dialogue with the products of the new collection. The design of the display, enhanced by sinuous three-dimensional effects, includes numerous environments dedicated to both indoor and outdoor spaces (for a total surface area of 2,000 square meters), in which the fil rouge seems to be defined by the presence of distinct geometric shapes alternating with curved and straight lines, just like the exhibition context.

The company’s experience continues through its collaboration with designers from different cultures and with strong identities who enhance “Minotti design”, creating a fresh and largely international language.

The direction was entrusted to Rodolfo Dordoni, who designed the Lawson and West seating systems: the first characterised by the fluidity of its forms and the equilibrium of its soft volumes, the second by ergonomically contoured leather backrests which support the back cushion.

Alongside him is French designer Christophe Delcourt with his Daniels seating system which brings all-new compositions to living rooms and in which regular and elliptical curves interrupt the linearity of the configurations, infusing them with a dynamic style.

Japanese brand Nendo also stands out in the creative parterre with its table Wedge: this play of masses, expressed by the solid sculptural presence of the semi-circular legs, serves to counterbalance the delicacy with which these rest on the floor, each leg ending in an oblique, chisel-shaped cut. A design approach that is also found in the coffee table by the same name. Of note is the barrel-shaped version with glass top, on the surface of which emerge the semi-circles of the supports, intentionally distributed in an irregular fashion.

Marcio Kogan/studio mk27 translates the atmosphere of Brazil and the rationalism that dominates its design in the Quadrado outdoor collection, presented last year and now expanded to include a new sofa, daybed, and table.

Meanwhile, Danish studio Gam Fratesi makes its debut, focusing on (for its first collaboration with the company) comfortable seating with the Angie armchair, characterised by a leather element that, like a wing, hugs and supports the chair; and the Shelley armchair, characterised by an elegant formal cubism, a linear geometry embellished by the presence of leather and by its careful craftsmanship.
