Refin, material and young people

Ceramic and glass star in the installation that Ceramiche Refin, together with the Istituto Marangoni, is presenting in the Emilian company’s flagship store

Ceramiche Refin has officially opened the Brera district for the (ever-longer) Milanese and global design week. During these days, the Via Melone showroom, together with the Istituto Marangoni – The School of Design, will host Mimesis Material Performances, a project involving 10 students from the Istituto (now an international institution), who each designed a glass table object, all of which were arranged alongside the new Refin collection, named Vetri (Glass).

Vetri, Fumé

Vetri, FuméVetri is perhaps the most design-oriented collection that Refin has presented in recent years. It is a collection that only appears to be minimal, which even features colours that seem simple: Vetri’s glossy finish and its colours have an exciting impact and its refined simplicity has reduced the structure of the ceramic to a minimum and maximized the intensity of its visual impact.

The play of reflections between Refin’s Vetri collection and the glass creation by the students from the Maragoni, made by the ooniko glass brand, demonstrate how it is possible to create a sophisticated, delicate ensemble: you just need to interpret the material and to have a vision in order to represent reality. And to create true mimesis.
