Moroso + Ingo Maurer: love at first sight

A perfect understanding unites the two design brands that inaugurate the beginning of an aesthetic synergy and a commercial collaboration

The match was made with the idea of making the Munich showroom more functional in order to organise encounters and meetings that have a new personality. And so it was that Ingo Maurer called Moroso and the spark was lit.
The chemistry is perfect: both brands are unconventional, free spirits with a great desire to challenge that is combined with high competence. A strong spirit of design and aesthetics that has always given life to products that over time have become true archetypes of lighting and furnishings, respectively, and that has inexorably served as a magnet.

So, after the first stage of the collaboration, which saw the two brands united in the space of Munich during the Bau fair last January, the feeling continues to flow in a series of virtuous synergies.

During the Salone del Mobile in Milan, not only will Moroso host the lamps by Ingo Maurer in its stand designed by Patricia Urquiola, but also inside the showroom in Via Pontaccio, where the Italian company will celebrate 10 years of the M’Afrique collection with an installation curated by Marco Viola, and Ingo Maurer’s creations will illuminate the furniture of the Shanghai Tip and Redondo collection by Patricia Urquiola, the Shadowy chairs by Tord Boontje and the new Casa Modernista sofa by Doshi Levien, in a setting specifically dedicated to this new partnership.
But ‘love’ multiplies, as we know.

And the commercial partnership between the two brands also includes the display and the marketing of the respective products in the Moroso showrooms in Milan and in the Maurer space in Kaiserstrasse 47 in Munich. In addition, the two companies will present themselves together in the contract segment for the Italian market, offering interiors composed of Moroso furnishings and Ingo Maurer lamps, with customised solutions.

“I have always loved Ingo’s work – says Patrizia Moroso, Art Director -, I find that his poetry, his vision, his irony, his way of using colours are in tune with our sensitivity. We have always had in common the passion for the project and an unconventional way of interpreting design objects. To this is added a personal infinite esteem for the person. “It is mutual for Claude Maurer, daughter of the German designer: “Ingo Maurer and many team members have admired the brand for a long time and each has his or her favourite products … The ideas for further collaborations also in other places have blossomed like flowers in spring.”
