The color revolution of the bathroom

The Frankfurt fair corroborates the reversal of the trend related to the bathroom space: ultra-modern design and variety of colors meet the changing demands of the market

Styles, fashions, and trends do not last forever and are destined to evolve, to be renewed or even denied. The bathroom is probably the most dynamic area of the house: after a decade of minimalist style and elegant shades, today there is a revolution in the way of conceiving this space, both in terms of materials and, above all, colors.

ISH takes up the challenge and dedicates an area of the exhibition (Pop up my bathroom) to this theme.  Here visitors can discover new proposals of ultra-modern design and materials such as wood, marble and metal finishes, as well as bold chromatic combinations. The predominant color is often gray, a refined hue that provides a contrast to brighter tones.

The leitmotiv for ISH 2019 is boldness. It is possible to combine three or four different colors, but in order to achieve harmony, it is fundamental that only one of them acts as the protagonist.
Green is one of the most effective shades; it contributes to the creation of environments of natural appeal when combined with floral patterns.
Some nuances can influence the mood of people. This is the case of blue, increasingly popular hue in European countries due to its relaxing effect in opposition to the constant buzz of everyday life.

Dark colors find their dimension in today’s bathroom environment: brown is often used as primary or secondary shade and adds vintage charm to space, while black combines with all colors and is always a fitting accompaniment.
In Frankfurt, a special mention goes to white, a color that dominates 40% of the bathrooms in German homes.

In conclusion, there is a growing tendency for companies to experiment, research and find appealing and pleasant solutions that meet the needs of customers who have changed the way of looking at the bathroom.
A revolution that affects accessories, surfaces, walls, and furniture as well.
