A new home for FLA Eventi

The headquarters will be built in Milan in an area owned by Fondazione Fiera Milano. The decision was taken unanimously by the Executive Committee

Federlegno Arredo Eventi changes home. The new headquarters, the organising association of the Salone del Mobile.Milano and the MADE expo, will be born in an area now owned by Fondazione Fiera Milano, including the streets of Guglielmo Silva, Paolo Uccello and viale Lodovico Scarampo.

The land, which is part of the 2014 Complementary Agreement to the Trade Fair Programme Agreement, is located right in front of Pavilions 3 and 4 of the Portello. The decision was taken unanimously by the Executive Committee and then ratified by the General Council of Fondazione Fiera Milano, which met under the chairmanship of Giovanni Gorno Tempini, who declared: “This prestigious intervention will be the image of Italian design and of the bond that has joined together Federlegno, Fiera and the city of Milan for 60 years.”

The new building will be designed by an Italian architect of international renown, on an area of about 6 thousand square metres.
The President of Federlegno Arredo Eventi, Emanuele Orsini, explains how the area that will rise a few meters from the Portello will be a home for the members and for the group’s events: “A modern, iconic and sustainable structure, located in one of the most prestigious districts of the new Milan and designed by an internationally renowned Italian architect, that will ensure adequate space for a reality that has long since surpassed national borders and is increasingly projected towards global goals.”

The President of the Salone del Mobile, Claudio Luti, states that it is a strategic choice for promoting the excellence of the design and the project: “Investing in a space of high architectural value in Milan today assumes not only a role aimed at the functional aspect, but it becomes a symbol within an area of the city projected towards the future. It can become an element of attraction for the Salone brand at an international level.”
