Nathalie unties 40 bows

Flou from 1978 to 2018: a book that retraces the forty-year history of what is considered to be the forefather of textile beds

A book to celebrate forty years of the company’s most iconic product. In Nathalie/40, Flou tells the story of the first textile bed, recounting the evolution of taste and lifestyle from 1978 to today, which inspired Rosario Messina and Vico Magistretti to create the “bed with tassels”.

The celebrations began at the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2018 with the debut of Nathalie Limited Edition. This model, which was released as a limited series of 299, faithfully reproduces one of the 1978 versions. The short film Il fiocco perfetto (The perfect bow), dedicated to the brand’s bed, was also presented at the trade show.
Until 31st December, Flou, in collaboration with the showrooms participating in the initiative, will distribute Nathalie/40 and will screen the film in stores that host the historic bed.

Nathalie’s enduring success over the years is due to the changes and improvements that have stopped it from ever going out of fashion, while also improving its functionality. The most recent version features the new Comfort base, which consists of two individual frames with a single covering that uses a special 3D fabric with breathable properties in the central area.

As with all the collection’s variants, this model is also available with a padded headboard, upholstered with fabric, leather, faux leather or nubuck and completely removable thanks to the Velcro fastening.
Nathalie features a useful manual mechanism that makes it reclining, while the pillow covers on the headboard protect the pillows from dust. The base is available in five versions: rigid, container, fixed with a height of 16 or 25 cm or with an electric movement mesh.
