Valcucine and LG strengthen ties

The partnership with the leading Italian kitchen brand and the Korean multinational has been strengthened with the release of Signature Kitchen Suite, the new line of electrical appliances created by LG for the luxury market

With the upper echelons of LG Electronics and Valcucine looking on, Signature was officially unveiled at IFA Berlin. The new electrical appliances are designed to integrate with high-end kitchens and furniture across both the residential and contract sectors.

IFA – second only to CES in Las Vegas in terms of the most important electrical consumer goods events in the world – was the setting for the Signature installation, which was set up in a large, sheltered space outside of the pavilions. The elegant, interesting space paired the hi-tech electrical appliances with products from Italian brands Valcucine and Arclinea to stunning aesthetic effect.
The concept of artificial intelligence – the jewel in the crown of LG’s research and development department – runs right though the Korean giant’s product catalogue and promises to push the boundaries of electronics even further (in addition to this generation of products, the next batch is set to be even more ground breaking).

The combination of technology and design (with a clear focus on tackling the reduced amount of space available in modern societies) is at the heart of Signature Kitchen Suite. “The brand was created to attract the attention of big-spending users who want top products in the kitchen and see furniture as a status symbol,” explain Signature team leader Jay Sung.
In addition to new washing machines and tumble dryers, special mention must go to the new Styler (available in the ThinQ and Mirrored Glass Door versions), a multi-functional product suitable for even the swankiest five-star hotel suite. With understated, elegant aesthetics, its Pants Crease Care and TrueSteam technology takes care of and sterilises folded clothes, eliminating the need to visit a dry cleaner’s. And of course, the whole thing can be operated using voice commands inspired by artificial intelligence.

For the new generation of foodies, people who love cooking yet are also open to new technology (known in the USA as “technicurians”), the ideal product combines ease of use, sophisticate tech and elegant aesthetics.

To appeal to this market, Signature Kitchen Suite has created combi ovens that “remember” what a user has cooked previously and how they cooked it. The ovens memorise the information and can be programmed via WiFi from any type of device. They even have digital display panels showing images of the finished dishes.
Signature Kitchen Suite’s distribution strategy will be a truly global affair, starting with the installation of the new products in its partners’ showrooms (including Toncelli) and talks with leading figures in the design world.
