A new home for B&B Italia

A new destination for fans of Italian culture is inaugurated in the heart of the Design District: in collaboration with WPA Chicago, a multi-brand store is created where the exclusive collections of B&B Italia, Maxalto and Arclinea can be found. A combination of iconic articles and contemporary furnishings

It was 1998 when WPA Chicago – a group of architects, artists and builders with a profound knowledge of design – decided to distribute the Arclinea kitchen brand in the United States, inaugurating a flagship store in the design district of the American city, in Superior Street. Today, a new and exciting partnership is creating an innovative multi-brand store that brings together the collections of B&B Italia and Maxalto in the same 650 square-metre showroom.
A space that has been totally reimagined and renovated while maintaining its original industrial character, in which the three brands are integrated in perfect synergy thanks to their shared creative values, such as the approach to production and the constant striving for excellence.

From the living and night zones to the outdoors, the most recent B&B Italia and Maxalto products take their places alongside the companies’ iconic articles: from the new seating systems, Richard, Michel and Charles designed by Antonio Citterio to the SAKé system of Piero Lissoni, from the Harbor armchairs of Naoto Fukasawa to the Tufty-Time seats of Patricia Urquiola, and the outdoors with the Tobi-Ishi Outdoor table of Barber & Osgerby, the Ray Outdoor Natural seating system and the Erica armchairs.

Maxalto, the modern classic brand of B&B Italia, entirely coordinated and designed by Antonio Citterio, meanwhile offers Chicago the seating systems Solatium, Dives and Lucrezia, the Xilos table and the Alcova four-poster bed.
Finally, Arclinea and its collection of top-of-the-range kitchens in perfect harmony with the vision of B&B Italia: on display are four projects devised by Citterio – Arclinea’s key designer since 1986 – including Convivium, isola Italia, the “double corner” range with glossy lacquered granite and the Calacatta marble top, and Vina Epicuree with its convivial island furnished with a snack bar.
