Past and present Puglia

In Borgo Egnazia, in the Brindisi area, past and present coexist in an evocative, immersive experience shaped by local culture and well-being

Want to immerse yourself in the most traditional side of Puglia? Borgo Egnazia opens its impressive entrance arch to those who want to rediscover the simplicity of days gone by while remaining in the contemporary world.
In the Brindisi countryside of Savelletri di Fasano, not far from the Adriatic coast, a recreated authentic atmosphere is combined with 5-star hospitality. Surrounded by the humble aesthetics of yesteryear on the one hand, and the splendor of well-being on the other, guests can lose themselves in a bubble of new-found tranquillity thanks to the magical setting, which evokes the world of farmers, sun and nature and offers a top-level service.

Pino Brescia, a creative from Faso, used high energy standards and aimed to perfectly interpret the wishes of the Melpignano family, who commissioned the project, taking great inspiration from a typical Puglia town: its forms – featuring small windows and porticoes –, its materials – using tuff cut by hand by master tuff workers and local stone –, its colors and its division of spaces.

The homage to the town’s architecture continues in the 3 main areas of the building, which extends over a total area of over 162,000 sq m.
“La Corte” (The Courtyard), designed as a traditional central area, contains 63 bedrooms of different types, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts and a revolutionary 2000 sq m spa, a true temple of relaxation for the mind and body which includes a Roman bath, private suites, cabins for treatments, a barber and even a spa cinema.

“Il Borgo” (The Village) is the heart of the complex with its entrance arches, alleys with names in dialect, bustling square, wells, fountains that resemble troughs for horses and original ‘clock tower’ that houses 92 accommodation units.

Finally, the “Ville” (Villas) – 29 autonomous buildings each designed with a floor space of 250 sq m and a 500 sq m building that is only available on request – are intended for those who require absolute privacy. It is clear that everything has been meticulously designed to offer ‘tailored’ assistance, from the special local advisers available to customers at the two private beaches – the rocky Cala Masciola and the sandy La Fonte – to the 18-hole San Domenico Golf Club set among ancient olive trees overlooking the sea. The complex also boasts the unmissable flavors of the local area that testify to an ancient food and wine culture, explored by six restaurants and overseen by the executive chef from Bari, Domingo Schingaro, under the supervision of coach Andrea Ribaldone, who is, needless to say, a Michelin-starred chef.
