Domotex 2018, trends, products and protagonists from all over the world

The next edition of Domotex will have a strong international tendency, from the number of foreign exhibitors to the subject of the meetings that will involve architects, designers, and companies from around the world. Susanne Klaproth, the director responsible for Domotex and Deutsche Messe says  “The fair will host circa 1400 exhibitors from over 60 countries.” Additionally, with the improvement of the website and a focus on megatrends represented by the theme “Unique Youniverse”, the 30th edition of Domotex will open with a new approach and a new enthusiasm.

Visitors can immerse themselves in a world of trends, innovation and lifestyles like never before. “Many exhibitors are already preparing their showcases,” added Klaproth, “and they have a reason to be excited about what expects them at the show, especially in Hall 9.”

Hall 9 will be the new ‘pearl’ of Domotex thanks to the Framing Trends showcase, a diversified and immersive space where renowned companies, industries and artists engage in the main theme of the fair in a series of individual and joint exhibitions, conceived in a very creative way. The “Framing Trends” of Hall 9 also includes a talk and meeting program that will involve global experts, internationally renowned designers and architects, as well as founders of innovative startups or exponents of the future generation of designers. The meetings will feature quick presentations and discussion groups devoted to the identification of trends.

Various topics in the program: “Modular design: individual against serial?”, “New unique products: handmade against digital?” And “Retail Interactive: virtual against real?”. In the space called “NuThinkers”, always within the “Framing Trends” area, talented students will present innovative designs on current trends and unconventional products.

New features are also available for visitors, who will be able to take part in guided tours by famous architects and designers – including Peter Ippolito (Ippolito Fleitz Group, Stuttgart), Jürgen Mayer. H. (J.Mayer.H und Partner, Architekten Mbb, Berlin) and Susanne Schmidhuber (Schmidhuber, Munich) – which will offer a unique overview of the products and the leading theme.

Another highlight of Hall 9 will be the Carpet Design Awards, an international award dedicated to the world’s best design rugs, divided into eight categories.

Also be the global layout of Domotex 2018 is entirely new, where products will be linked in a reciprocal proximity, making it easier to have a full overview of the latest proposals.

Halls from 2 to 4 will host a wide range of handmade carpets; halls from 5 to 7 feature classical carpets and machine made rugs, bath sets and runners, Hall 8 will feature the latest creations from the world’s most innovative designers and brand names. Showcases of floor-to-floor coatings and luxury tiles will be concentrated in halls 11 and 12; parquet, wood and laminate flooring will be in halls 12 and 13.
