Hospitality according to Pedrali

Inviting and generous like Babila, elliptical like Nym, pure and well-defined like Volt or ergonomic and elegant like Jazz. Hospitality comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, at least according to Pedrali, who design furniture for the hospitality and retail sectors.
Pedrali had a huge range of products and an even larger variety of potential ideas on display at Host Milano, the exclusive industry event that ran from 20 to 24 October. Pedrali has long been associated with Host, having first taken part way back in 1985, and this time chose to show off its work in different areas of the HoReCa and contract sectors.

The undoubted highlight was located in the Arredo – Furniture – area in Pavilion 11. The gallery was split into six sections which showcased Pedrali’s versatility, scope for customisation and the flexibility of the brand and its collections. In other words, it was a celebration of Pedrali’s natural affinity with the sector.

Take Dome, for example. This collection of chairs made from polypropylene was designed by Odo Fioravanti, who was able to evoke the glorious tradition of the bistro chair. Fioravanti is also the man behind Babila, a chair that merges tradition and innovation with aplomb. Fox, by Patrick Norguet, is a symbol of versatility and functionality, while the Nym collection – by Cazzaniga Mandelli Pagliarulo – uses solid ash to put a contemporary twist on traditionally British Windsor chairs. Volt, by Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci, uses simple shaping and clean lines to ensure functionality and comfort in virtually any context. Meanwhile, Nolita – designed specifically for outdoor use by Mandelli Pagliarulo – is a nod to the work begun by Mario Pedrali back in 1963, with his first metal garden chairs.
Perhaps the biggest new arrival for 2017 was Basaglia Rota Nodari’s Giravolta, which won the SMART Label 2017 (organised by HOST – Fiera Milano in collaboration with POLI.design) in the Product Performance category.

Further evidence of the brand’s philosophy around hospitality could be found in its lounge spaces both at its display stand and at the Pedrali Relax&Recharge Area in Host’s Pavilion 6 (of which the brand is the technical sponsor). These spaces featured some of the latest products unveiled at Milan Furniture Fair – perfect for adding extra comfort and intimacy.

Last but not least, Pedrali also teamed up with IFDM for a special project at Host.  To mark the launch of the Contract&Hospitality Book (Fall | Winter 2017 edition), the brand and magazine created an elegant, sophisticated space dedicated to hospitality and business. The space was the perfect area for professionals who want to get to know each other and share projects and opportunities through the IFDM network.
Simple and minimalist in style with plenty of colour contrasts, the lounge created a warm orange backdrop (inspired by the cover of the latest Contract&Hospitality Book) for the Pedrali collections, ensure their dark styling and clean lines are given centre stage in what is a well-balanced marriage of style and values.
