Very Wood and Matteo Thun: a strong design collaboration

On the constantly-evolving arena with a propensity for rapid development of projects, is established a connection based on the lasting and admiring synergy between Very Wood and Matteo Thun. Two names that have created a new way of interpreting hospitality and its rules; a vision where craftsmanship, natural materials, healthy living and human values are predominant.
The result of this meeting of these kindred souls is the creation of Capri, the new collection for outdoor spaces by Matteo Thun Atelier (a brand that offers personalized furniture pieces and accessories for hotels, hospitals, restaurants through a digital platform) and produced by Very Wood.
Launched in an exclusive location, the rooftop of the ME Milan Il Duca hotel in Milan, during the Milano Fall Design Week, the collection has proved since its first public appearance its many features: versatility, formal essentiality, technical and functional value granted by its raw material: the wood, a fresh and Mediterranean appeal profused by the upholstery fabric by Livio De Simone. ”It is a celebration of authentic Italian values”, according to Matteo Thun, that has conceived the collection to meet the needs of design and style in the contract world, from the common areas of hotels to the terraces of private suites, from the solariums of the most renowned wealthiness centers to the lounge areas of bar and restaurants.

Capri is the latest product of the collaboration between Very Wood and Matteo Thun Aterlier, preceded by the Carmen line in 2016, a mix of classicism and modernity embodied in a series of seats, and Lisboa, a classic model of chair presented at the Salone del Mobile in Milan last April.
But the roots of this creative and entrepreneurial partnership can be found in the past, starting with the meeting of Matteo Thun & Partners’ in 2013 for the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa project, where the designer chose the Very Wood seats for some deluxe rooms and suites; and again, the IntercityHotel project: starting from 2017 for all new openings and renovations (until today, 12 completed projects), interior design was entrusted to Matteo Thun & Partners’s team, who chose Very Wood as a partner for lounge, social and dining areas.

“Today, big hotel chains are calling for “turnkey” concepts to develop their own brand portfolio – explains Matteo Thun, architect and designer – Timeless design means to offer a project that is easily replicable and personalized based on style and location, not following the trends of the moment. ” Here is a design with a strong aesthetic durability, combined with an entrepreneurial approach to the project, which provides tailor-made and quality solutions: this is the key to this collaboration, which is just at the beginning.
