Ten years rolled into ten days of success

The “A decade of evolution in design” exhibition held at Fondazione Stelline in Milan and previewed on 15 June proved to be a real success. In fact, held to mark the 10th anniversary of IFDM, the show registered around a thousand visits within just one week of opening.

Leading furniture companies, interior designers, architects and art lovers, but above all friends, acquaintances and readers of the magazine, eagerly accepted the invitation to discover the relationship between the world of design – traditionally the focal point of IFDM magazine – and art.

A mix taking the form of an exhibition – comprising 11 canvases depicting the most important stages in the editorial evolution of IFDM, and 19 works of art stemming from the artistic reinterpretation of 19 furnishing elements donated by Italian partner companies – that showcased the boundless creativity of 27 young artists from the Brera Academy, coordinated by Professor of Contemporary Art History, Andrea Del Guercio.

An event whose opening, on 15 June, set the tone for its more than positive outcome, welcoming over 500 guests for an evening of socialising and culture with the emphasis on entertainment in the most diverse of areas.

Entertainment in the form of pure art, through the works distributed along the corridors and the large and verdant cloister of Fondazione Stelline; a circus and street dance show together with Kira, a bartending show thanks to La Santeria of Milan – event partner – which created the special “10” cocktail using ten ingredients: “a blend refined with the fruity notes of lime and the exotic fragrance of nutmeg to evoke a round-the-world trip in 10 stages”.

There was also a high-quality wine experience offered by partner Bottega, which has a winemaking tradition that goes back three generations and a production philosophy centred around respect for nature and the promotion of simple and genuine flavours, but with an original focus on product design.

Design is also the distinctive calling-card of furniture-partner Unopiù: from the comfort of its Syntesis, Lawrence and Les Arcs seats it was possible to admire and enjoy every moment of the event, for a complete and immersive experience in the diverse IFDM world.
