Towards IFFS 2018

A rich edition of surprises and presences is to be expected. Announced today at the Straff Hotel in Milan, the next dates of IFFS – International Furniture Fair Singapore, that will take place from March 8-11, 2018. The array of news aims to increase the results achieved last year when the fair reached very important figures: 21,966 professional furniture industry visitors, including 87 buyer delegations from 92 countries. The innovative core of the 2018 edition is the project designed by Giulio Cappellini, who – after the success of the 2017 installation, The Italian Hospitality – brings to Singapore the most distinguished Italian tradition of Renaissance villas. “The new Italian Renaissance” is the installation developed by the architect in the context of IFFS 2018: a noble house that evokes the set of rules of the ‘domus italica’ in its traditional settings; a historical, cultural and emotional journey to the Italian personality through its productive excellence.

IFFS’ goal is to “create a multi-sensorial show experience that introduces technology, celebrates design and facilitates connections.”
Therefore the launch of the first AR – “augmented reality” area: through the use of simulated technology, exhibitors can show an amplified range of products and offer visitors an immersive and interactive exhibiting experience. The network of contacts expands embracing new national pavilions with the presence of Portugal, Spain and Turkey. The proposal is supported by the parallel events of ASEAN Furniture Show (AFS) and NOOK Asia dedicated in its second edition to international craftsmanship and the SingaPlural International Designer Showcase and Furniture Design Award initiatives. To be noticed also the Design STARS Showcase, the collective that showcases 10 design talents from around the world, as well as the recent events including EU Business Avenues, the Upholstery Pavilion, the Outdoor Boulevard. Finally the DesignxBusiness Seminars complete the program.
