Muuto’s new ‘perspectives’

The Muuto brand has become well-known thanks to its pure, colorful design and its fresh, contemporary living products. However, probably few people know that the name derives from the word ‘muutos’, which means ‘new perspective’ in Finnish.

This is an appropriate choice, since the company intends to take Scandinavian design in an innovative direction, in which aesthetics, functionality craftsmanship and design honesty lead the way.

In keeping with its focus on internationalization, the company first attended Imm Cologne and is now exhibiting its new home products at the Stockholm Furniture Fair.

Starting with the Compose sofa designed by the duo Anderssen & Voll: it consists of archetypal elements – seat, backrest, armrests, cushions and legs – and its concept is to create an extremely comfortable sofa with a harmoniously sculptural design.

The Rest Studio, by the same designers, takes a different approach: designed to satisfy new living trends (increasingly smaller rooms and the need for products that combine functionality and aesthetic appeal), this sofa is compact in size (only 160 cm), featuring ample padding and captivating details, above all the Kvadrat cover fabrics, which form delicate folds on the armrests and cushions.

Workshop, designed by Cecilie Manz, is an example of pure craftsmanship. Based on a concept of formal and visual lightness, Workshop is ideal for residential and contract settings.

Meanwhile, the Restore containers are imbued with new colors: Black Melange, Midnight Blue and Aqua.
