Porcelain tile becomes Sapienstone

Iris Ceramica Group is launching Sapienstone, the holding company’s new brand, with a dedicated showroom in Castellarano, the company headquarters, and an installation at the recent Bologna Design Week. Following the SmartSlab Table prototype, presented in Milan at the last FuoriSalone and created in collaboration with the Kram/Weisshaar firm, the entire collection of technical porcelain kitchen tops was the star of Dress Your Kitchen in Bologna, an installation with light effects and video projections set up in the monumental complex of the Ex Ospedale degli Innocenti.

Thanks to the collaboration with Spanish company TBP Top Porzelanik Barcelona®, a manufacturer of TPB tech® tops, Sapienstone’s porcelain tile has evolved to become intelligent and technological: induction cooking is carried out directly on the surface by means of the latest-generation inductors and touch controls inserted on the top.

Providing a work surface and cooking area at the same time, light large slabs (320 x 150 cm), with a thickness of 12 or 20 mm, combine high technical performance with sophisticated aesthetic qualities. The tops are non-absorbent, recyclable and resistant to high temperatures, impact, scratches, abrasions, acid products and corrosive agents. They are easy to apply and maintain and are also suitable for outdoor use.
The ten textures presented are Basalt Black, Basalt Cream, Urban Antracite, Urban Argento, Uni Ice, Malm Black, Malm Grey, Bianco Lasa, Calacatta Statuario and Calacatta. Featuring a natural, gloss and semi-gloss finish, they reinterpret fine marble, cement and natural stone. The full-body colors are designed to reproduce the surface veins in the body of the tiles, ensuring a realistic effect and preserving the product’s aesthetic over time.
