It all began with the Bosco Verticale (Vertical Wood), an innovative work created in Milan by the architect Boeri, which featured Fontanot’s staircase in the entrance lobby, tailor-made to the design of a renowned group of professionals (Dolce Vita Homes, Antonio Citterio, Patricia Viel and Partners, and Coima Image): extensive glass surfaces merge with the exterior in a unique setting, magnified by the green of the "Giardino De Castillia".
But that was just the beginning. Soon, two of Fontanot’s staircases also featured in the Torre Allianz, 220 metres high and the tallest building in Italy: an office tower designed by Arata Isozaki with Andrea Maffei.
This was another success and led to the Rimini company being chosen for the UniCredit Pavilion, a modern, multifunctional meeting space in Piazza Gae Aulenti that merges design and technology, as seen in LaFont, the tailor-made spiral staircase that connects the auditorium to the gangway made of a combination of materials, such as painted carbon steel, streaked solid oak with natural finish, stainless steel and tempered glass, all enhanced with a linear LED lighting system
