The luminous sculpture ideated by the director Robert Wilson for Slamp, is the protagonist of an installation through the Colline of Chianti running until the end of October. The work will be in the limelight both in Tuscany and New York City, where it will be auctioned off in occasion of the annual event curated by the Watermill Centre.
The Art of the Treasure Hunt is the name of the itinerary organized by the art collector Luziah Hennessey; Slamp takes part in it through a site-specific exhibition located within Felsina, the historic cantina in Castelnuovo Berardenga, Siena. The three creations attract not only wine lovers but also art and design professionals. Another strategic location is the Relais & Châteaux Borgo San Felice chapel, that hosts two La Traviata sculptures next to the latest masterpieces of Zaha Hadid, Aria Gold and Aria Transparent. The colored and lively atmosphere of the first cantina, where the Robert Wilson’s works illuminate the immense wooden barrels of Chianti Classico, becomes magic within the chapel, thanks to the haunting aura that surronds the Queen of Architecture’s products.
Also a participant in the FuoriSalone (at the Handmade event and on the Teatro dell’Arte – Triennale di Milano’s stage), La Traviata – with eight prototypes scenographically arranged in a luminous installation – will be present in the Big Apple, sold by world-renowned auctioneer, Simon de Pury. With a starting price of 12.000 dollars, the auction's sales benefits will support the students of the interdisciplinary-laboratory Watermill Centre, founded by Wilson. It will be possible to watch the live broadcast of the auction thanks to Slamp.
